A missional Christian is....
Here is a funny video in light of our discussion at vineyard days about missional churches being the new buzz word...
great vid...be the hands & feet of Jesus wherever you are & let God direct your steps...Prov. 3: 5 & 6 the problem with "doing missions" is that we tend to send people who aren't even being a good 'neighbour' here at home...however, we do need 'world Christians' who can be 'carriers of Christ's hope' wherever they are sent in the world... so the issue isn't 'where we are'...the issue is 'are we living the mission of God'?
Fun video. It strikes down an old-fashioned stereotype about where and how Christians can tell others about Christ.
This on the other hand, is a pretty inaccurate and judgmental stereotype:
"we tend to send people who aren't even being a good 'neighbour' here at home..."
I've spent over a decade in the international missions community, many of these people are my friends and support system, and they represent the spectrum of mission organizations, and I find this to be an irresponsible, unfounded and pretty unloving claim.
Rob, "cheers to that"? Really? I thought the Vineyard community was about love, not judgmentalism.

cheers to that. I love the world christian thing-I know these people. They have a beautiful way of being present and 'with' people.
ReplyDeleteThere are other of these online for those who are interested/
