Speaking about encountering, and expecting to encounter strangers is like.....EASY for some.....and incredibly difficult for others. So much so that we would be tempted to think that because we are introverts, we somehow should not expect that this type of message is for us. I think the thing that challenges me is that this is a Kingdom Story. God is about it. The faith part I think for all of us, whether talking to strangers is easy or hard is that God can make it happen.I can't wait for our deep coffee encounters to come in.....exciting stuff. If you want, tell your strange encounter in a comment below...Here is a strange encounter by tom vogel.....check it out.

Hey
ReplyDeleteMy story - I am an introvert, not as much with those I know, but very much so with strangers. When I was going through all the tests for the kidney donation, I decided when I was in the hospital in Hamilton I would try and talk to people on the elevator with me and sometimes when I was waiting for tests. So I did, just little bits like 'boy it's easy to get lost around here" or something about the weather...and often I just tried to acknowledge them instead of look past them or through them.
To my surprise in every case people responded back positively, and I actually found the elevator ride and the waiting area so much more comfortable and positive than it ever was trying to pretend like no one else was there... People respond to being treated like they are another human being, as opposed to like they are invisible!
all you extroverts are rolling your eyes...because you already know this...
